If you are thinking about adopting the EV lifestyle in Aurora, you are certainly not alone. Many drivers in the Parker area are discovering the advantages of EV ownership. While many drivers opt for an EV because of the environmental benefits, there are several reasons to put a new electric vehicle at the top of your list. One key advantage is that electric vehicles are easier to maintain. In our Lexus EV maintenance guide, we cover important components of the Lexus electric car maintenance schedule. We strive to make Lexus EV routine maintenance as simple and straightforward as possible.

Lexus Electric Car Maintenance Schedule

If you are not familiar with the Lexus electric car maintenance schedule, we can help. Below, we have listed a few key Lexus EV routine maintenance tasks and when they should be completed:

  • Battery Checks – The battery is arguably the most important component of your EV. This is why we highly recommend inspecting your battery on a regular basis. This is especially important if your EV runs on a lithium-ion pack. For most vehicles, the EV battery will last 100,000 miles or more. When you check your battery regularly, it can help you catch small issues before they get worse.
  • Brake Fluid Replacement – Replace the brake fluid every 3-5 years. This will need to be done sooner if the brake warning light flashes on your driver information cluster.
  • Coolant System Maintenance – Most EVs have special thermal management or cooling systems. These ensure that the battery functions properly. Peruse your owner’s manual to find out when this service is recommended for your vehicle.
  • Tire Rotation – EVs are often much heavier than similarly sized gasoline-powered vehicles due to the larger battery pack. This makes tire care even more critical. Rotate your tires every 5,000 to 10,000 miles.
  • Wheel Alignment – Perform a wheel alignment every 15,000 miles. This task is important because it improves mile range and decreases tire tread wear.
  • Air Filter Replacement – The air filter helps to reduce pollen, road dust, dirt, and other harmful contaminants as you drive around Castle Rock. It will need to be replaced every 2-3 years. If you have a specialty air filter, you may be able to go up to 5 years before replacing the filter.
